Jessica Taylor is the new Hardin County Schools Director of Special Education.
"HCS is an excellent district and will continue to provide exceptional services for students,” Taylor said. “I am excited to continue partnering with parents, teachers, and administrators to increase outcomes for students with disabilities. Our special education department is a phenomenal team and I look forward to leading them for years to come."
She is in her 17th year in education. She spent six of those years as a special education teacher at New Highland Elementary School, eight as an HCS special education consultant and two years as a special education consultant for the Green River Regional Education Cooperative.
“Jessica is a perfect fit for this position,” Chief Academic Officer Greg Sutton. “Her experience, demeanor and compassion for students are wonderful assets and they will help our students reach their full potential. Our special education department is in great hands.”
Taylor replaces Kim Adkins who accepted the district’s HCS Director of Student Services position earlier this spring. When Adkins was named Interim Director of Student Services in August 2020, Taylor was named Interim Director of Special Education.
Taylor is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she earned certifications in Learning and Behavior Disorders, Moderate and Severe Disabilities and Director of Special Education.
